TIP 1: Ventilate space appropriately
Ventilating a room has one primary purpose; to replace humid indoor air with dry air from outside. Allowing a draft to fill the space for ten minutes (forced ventilation) is better than cracking a window open for hours. Unheated basements should be ventilated in the winter only, if possible. This is because moist air condenses on the cold basement walls during the summer, which increases the risk of mould growth.
